King West has evolved in the last decade into what is now arguably Toronto’s go-to neighbourhood for street style, cutting-edge culture and culinary delights. It’s no wonder some of the most talked about and anticipated new establishments have chosen their home in this bustling end of the city.
We give you four of the most trending new spots in the King Blue neighbourhood for you to savour.
Brioche Dorée
Toronto dwellers who’ve visited France may be familiar with this café-bakery’s first downtown location offering brioche, baguettes, quiches, tartlets and more. It’s the ideal new King West setting for a casual afternoon meeting over sweet and savory crêpes or the place to grab a morning croque monsieur before walking the neighbourhood with a Parisian pep in your step. Once the space receives its liquor license, a selection of French wines and Canadian brews will be served alongside the ham and brie sandwiches and chocolate croissants.

Yogavita Studio
Located inside King West’s Detox Market this boutique yoga studio is here to relieve your daily stress no matter if you’re a beginner or advanced yogi. Go in for an inspiring, candlelit yoga experience or mind and body workshop in the space that looks right out into the heart of the Entertainment District. You can choose from a Detox class to eliminate blockages and build strength, a Foundation class for lengthening and meditation or a Calm class to help you clear the mind and body.

Ristorante Bounanotte
The famed Montreal supper club has expanded into the King West culinary and nightlife scene in partnership with INK Entertainment. Executive chef Davide Ianacci is serving Italian comfort food to lunch and dinner patrons seated at tufted white banquettes under a copper grid ceiling. We recommend pairing a plate of gnocchi with Bolognese ragu or a thin wood-oven pizza with a bottle of fine imported red wine as you decide where the night will take you and your dining companions in the King Blue community.

Pretty Sweet Boutique
Owner and baker Adjoa Duncan invites you to cozy up by her cafe’s fireplace and take in the pink interiors and charming furnishings as you enjoy one of her made in-house, from scratch baked goods. Chocolate chunk cookies, blondies, butter tarts and cheesecakes in mason jars are waiting for you to sample in this King West patisserie. Custom cake creations can also be ordered for your next special occasion. Just make sure you get there before the cupcakes sell out!
