The Fashion Collective (TFC) hosted their 4th annual Fashion Film Event, DIScONNECT, at The Hoxton, during fashion week in Toronto.

In TFCs’ creation of DIScONNECT as a Fashion Film Event, they challenged photographers to step outside their medium of recognition and into film to create moving images that convey the fashion elements that drive the fashion industry, thus the Disconnect.

These short films were a part of series of commissions by The Fashion Collective for the 2012 Toronto Fashion Week event. Film makers, trailer by Marcus K. Jones, intro by Gabriel Gettman, Francisco Garcia, Greg Swales, Renata Kevah, Lily & Lilac,  Adam Levett, closing Zaiba Jabbar, presented films for the most recent edition.

Well-known west-end club owners Richard Lambert and Jesse Girard held The Hoxton to its name sake as the “new  Social.”  It was the ideal venue for the combined fashion and film event, a result of teaming up with comedian Kenny Hotz to morph the old State Theatre on Bathurst Street into a modern 8,000 square foot entertainment and music venue dressed in white-echo for open-space concerts and events. Their proven success in the club scene has helped them transform The Hoxton in to King West’s urban entertainment club central.

The Hoxton: Laser Seating

The talented Castor design studio brought the venue to life with bolts of neon and a jaw-dropping front entrance thousand-foot electroluminescent wire chandelier originally from Powerball in Toronto. LED panel lighting reflects the polished limestone bar stretching almost 50 feet.
