When you finally get the keys to your suite at King Blue, it will definitely be cause for celebration. What better way to officially celebrate your new home ownership and welcome into the King West community than with a dinner party for your closest friends and family? You can show off your spectacular Munge-Leung
designed suite, gorgeous kitchen, marvel at the city views and toast to the good life in the Entertainment District
But how do you throw a condo sized dinner party? With some creative party planning it is possible to entertain your guests for a meal in your condominium suite. Condos can make for a memorable environment for great conversation and an intimate party setting. Just plan ahead with some of these great tips to ensure you’ll be less overwhelmed and more excited to welcome your guests over to your King Blue suite for the first time.
1. Switch up your furniture placement
Your friends don’t have to balance their plates on their laps on your living room floor. Tables and seating will probably be your main challenge, but take advantage of the furniture you own and don’t be afraid to make some rearrangements for the night to maximize your space. You can move your dining table into the living room and gather up some chairs and stools to create an eating space everyone can sit at. Remove any pieces that aren’t needed for the night and store them in the bedroom or closet to open up the space. You’ll be surprised how easily your King Blue suite can accommodate your needs for the night.
2. Set the mood with lighting
Almost anything can be improved with good lighting. Go for some warm white light from tea lights, candles and even string lights around the dining area and the table. It will give the entire space a soft and warm glow and really complement the panoramic city views of downtown Toronto coming in from your windows.
3. Have fun with the menu
Put your King Blue kitchen to work and create a menu that complements the season and the taste buds of your guests. With some good wine and dessert you’ll round out the night with satisfying smiles. Haven’t discovered your inner Jamie Oliver yet? Lucky for you there are plenty of amazing take out and catering options just around the corner from King Blue that will come to your rescue for a real King West-themed menu of area favourites. We recommend some items from Fresh & Wild, Brioche Doree, Forno Cultura and Pretty Sweet Boutique to bring to the dinner table.
4. Make the most of King Blue
While the meal will be served in your suite so you can show your guests around your new place, don’t forget to give them a tour of the rest of King Blue and utilize the building amenities to really take the night to the next level. Wow them with the rooftop terrace and cozy up amidst the waterfalls and fire pits after dinner, or invite them over earlier and head on down to Theatre Museum of Canada housed in the building to explore before it’s time for dinner. If you’re inviting friends who live outside the city, why not offer them the option to spend the night at King Blue in one of the guest suites so they can take in the full King West living experience. They may want to purchase their own suite by the end of the night!
No matter how you pull it off, your desire to celebrate your new place and bring people together in your home will make for a memorable evening for all. And with some practice and experimenting you’ll soon find your King Blue suite will be the perfect place to share a meal with friends on a regular basis.
