Nestled along the shoreline of Lake Ontario, a stone’s throw from King Blue-King West, lies Toronto’s own unique 10-acre site dedicated to arts and culture. With outdoor venues, theatres, galleries, even an outdoor skating rink, Harbourfront Centre offers Torontonians a unique and vibrant cultural destination at the heart of the waterfront. Best of all? Many of their events are free!

Enjoy the last of the summer weather and head down to Harbourfront Centre for unique cultural events jammed packed with visual arts, film, dance, music, food, and fun! Upcoming highlights include:

CARIBBEAN TALES ANNUAL FILM FESTIVAL

TIFF isn’t the only film festival happening in Toronto this month! Visit Harbourfront Centre’s 7th annual CaribbeanTales Film Festival and go island-hopping at the movies. Experience the creativity of Canadian and Caribbean diaspora filmmakers from September 4 – 15, with eight feature films and 16 short films.

VIETNAMESE LANTERN FESTIVAL

Explore the meaning of the Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival as our Vietnamese community celebrates the Vietnamese Lantern Festival at the Harbourfront Centre. Also known as Tet Trung Thu, families across East Asia traditionally gather and celebrate the end of the summer harvest by eating moon cakes, lighting lanterns and gazing at the moon and stars. At the Harbourfront Centre, the celebration begins on September 15.

FORTUNE COOKING FESTIVAL
Harbourfront Fortune Cookie Festival - King Blue Condos

Enjoy a full-course feast of Pan-Asian food and culture on September 16 at the Fortune Cooking Festival. Explore the crossroads of Pan-Asian cuisine and its influence across the globe. Taste the trends, witness the wizardry and savour the sounds! Highlights include a Street Food Spotlight, and Fortune Cooking Iron Chef Competition.

HARBOURKIDS: FOLK

Harbourfront Centre is unplugged and getting back to grassroots with a feel-good family festival! Thanksgiving weekend (October 6-8), explore HarbourKIDS: Folk. Celebrate the positive influence of communities, families and friends through folk music, tales, art, theatre and more. Highlights include performances by The Cowgirl Choir and sugary indie-pop songs by The Elwins.
